Job Description:

Engineering positions have access to confidential materials, they
must be US Citizens or permanent residents to work in the
department.**
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promote company growth by improving assembly processes including
seeking out bottle necks in the process flow with goal of a
balanced manufacturing process. Provide day-to-day Process
Engineering support to all areas of the company. Provide timely
resolution of production issues in supporting the on-time and
cost-efficient shipment of products.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide fresh insight into existing manufacturing methods, assembly
techniques and practices. Reduce labor touch, equipment processing
time and increase throughput.
Analyze processes, methods, time studies, and other data and
provide reports containing the data and statistics to enable
management to better quantify improvement opportunities.
Research, develop, evaluate, and implement new methods, processes,
techniques, tools, or technology that improve assembly throughput
including in process quality checks.
Evaluate existing manufacturing processes, identify areas for
improvement and lead with implementation of improvements
Propose concepts for the design and construction of tooling &
fixtures to aid speedy assembly. Evaluate, test and report
results.
Research, specify, and aid in the procurement of new bins,
dispensers, and other devices for presenting parts to assemblers on
the assembly lines. Evaluate, test and report results.
Participate in kaizen events implementing 5S, Visual Manufacturing
Processes and other lean principles.
Analyze workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to
improve manufacturing efficiency. Assist in the planning and
Implementation of changes.
Write and/or execute Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA),
Continuous Improvement Studies/Evaluations, and Design of
Experiments (DOE).
Determine problem resolutions and implement improvements and or
corrective actions.
Create and/or upgrade production assembly work instructions and
provide direct support of personnel in the day-to-day execution of
the manufacturing, inspection and test operations.
Support new product development and/or design for manufacturability
enhancements to existing products
Prepare or assist with engineering costing estimates, manufacturing
estimates and tool cost analysis.
Ensure manufacturing processes and equipment comply with safety
standards
Perform other duties that may be assigned, or as necessary.
Travel:
As necessary to the machine center located in Rockland MA.
On rare occasions to customer locations if required.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or
Mechanical Engineering, Master of Science is preferred.
Candidates must have 5 to 7 years of related experience in a
manufacturing environment.
General Computer Experience required.
3D Computer Aided Design experience a plus.
ERP System knowledge and MRP/Manufacturing System knowledge is
desirable.
SPC System knowledge is desirable.
Experience with Lean concepts, 5S, Flow Lines, and Visual
Manufacturing Processes a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk onto shop floor
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Primary office and secondary manufacturing.
