of Printed/Electronic Materials:
- Streamlines and assists with the department's creative
development and management of the web site, related e-marketing
efforts, announcements, press releases and all printed marketing
materials for the department according to department strategy and
within BWH Marketing and Planning and BWH Communication & Public
Affairs departments' guidelines to create visually compelling
materials that meet audience information needs.
- Demonstrates excellent writing, editing and oral communications
skills to ensure marketing material and web content are
grammatically correct, effective and appropriate for both clinical
and research sections of the department.
- Responsible for constantly updating & maintaining all printed
and electronic materials/content for the department to ensure
accuracy and usefulness.
- Identifies gaps and areas for development and plans for
archiving or deleting outdated content.
- Responsible for collecting material and preparing the
Neurotransmitter, our internal department newsletter.Maintain
Relationship with BWH Marketing and External Vendors:
- Works with BWH Marketing and external vendors to determine &
implement Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine
Marketing (SEM) strategies.
- Gathers requirements from BWH Marketing and BWH Communication &
Public Affairs, or other areas within the hospital when necessary,
and develops web pages, templates, page elements, landing pages,
e-mail templates, graphics, banners, and other graphic materials
for use in printed and online advertising and promotion.Maintain
BWH Neurosurgery, BWH Neurosciences Website and Internal Sites:
- Uses strong technical skills in writing and implementing clear,
effective web pages and online solutions using the hospital's
content management system (Interwoven TeamSite) and web design
software to improve the department's intranet and internet sites in
order to make them appealing for use by the three major key groups:
patients and family members, research collaborators and potential
donors.
- Assist with testing and troubleshooting external and internal
website issues (e.g., link-checking, video operations, code
mapping, email distribution applications).
- Collaborate with institutional contacts to update all media
platforms associated with the department of Neurosurgery including
Brigham on a Mission, Alumni newsletter, etc.Maintain Social Media
Platforms:
- Researches new digital features, tools and trends and, as
appropriate, makes recommendations for their use.
- Identifies and collects social media appropriate stories and
promotions to be uploaded by BWH Communication & Public Affairs on
corporate social media outlets.
- Oversees social media output and delegate tasks accordingly to
Communications and Web Specialist.
- Collaborates with diverse BWH Neurosurgery staff members for
equitable representation of department; leads and presents
marketing material strategies to taskforce for members of committee
and assigns/delegates tasks accordingly to ensure inclusivity of
BWH Neurosurgery.
- Oversees preparation and outline of outgoing media posts slated
for upcoming week with Web & Communications Specialist to ensure
promotion of departmental initiatives.Assists in Planning of
Events:
- Assists in the planning and execution of academic conferences
as well as patient education, charitable giving, and departmental
